Schlumpf installation
Schlumpf drives require non-standard tools and techniques for installation.
They are held in place with angled friction. The frame of the cycle must be machined with a special cutting tool. After machining, the bottom bracket has a 45 degree surface on the insides of both ends.
The Schlumpf Drive has its own threads to pull the two ends tight into the machined bottom bracket.
Most bike shops do not have the proper tools to install a Schlumpf drive, but at AlphaBENT, we have the proper cutting tools, torque wrenches, and special sockets required to properly prepare the frame, install the Schlumpf to the proper torque, and get the buttons tightened properly.
Oh, we also have Schlumpf Drives, the chainrings, chainring guards, and everything else in between.
